Field Technician – Traffic Signals
SUMMARY
The FIELD TECHNICIAN is responsible for supporting traffic signal equipment within an assigned territory. Equipment includes; traffic signals, traffic signal cabinets, traffic signal controllers, various vehicle detection technologies, e.g., video cameras, radar sensors, inductive loops and networking and communications equipment. Responsibilities include, technical phone and onsite support as well as technical training of internal staff as well as customers. Good communication and people skills are key for this role. Pay for this position is highly competitive and commensurate with experience.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Knowledge of basic electric / electronic principles
• Knowledge of safe work methods, observing safety rules and regulations
• Skilled in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints
• Able to troubleshoot problems related to the electronic equipment
• Skilled in operating applicable tools and equipment of the trade
• Skilled in performing routine repair and maintenance activities
• Skilled in performing manual labor
• Skilled in operating a personal computer and related software applications
• Skilled in communicating effectively with a variety of individuals
• Skilled in working with communications equipment, broadband wireless, cellular
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or G.E.D
• Experience in the electronics, electrical, and or, IT-based fields
• Good working knowledge of PC’s and Windows Operating Systems
• Knowledge of MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, Project
• Prior experience with traffic signal equipment is a plus but not required
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel through the states the assigned territory. Must provide your own vehicle that is kept in good, reliable working order. Company-paid car allowance and mileage reimbursement is available. Must be able to maintain an expense account for travel expenses. Typical travel is one to three days per month, as
needed, with a typical two-week notice, although must have a flexible schedule as required.

Responsibilities
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety
• Identify electrical and mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
• Provide exceptional customer service while communicating effectively with clients regarding service needs and updates
• Document service activities and maintain accurate records
• Provide technical training to internal staff as well as customers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
