The Middle Atlantic Section of the International Municipal Signal Association is proud to announce the 2021 Scholarship awards. Alexander Buchanan of Midlothian, Virginia and Shannon Huskey of North Chesterfield, Virginia, grandchildren of member Dr. Joseph G. Palsa, are both recipients of this round of scholarships.
IMSA is the leading resource for endorsement of Public Safety through Certification and Education. To this end, the Middle Atlantic Section IMSA is proud to offer the opportunity for qualified applicants to compete for financial resources to assist them in pursuit of higher education.
Applicants must be an active member of the section or children or grandchildren of members of the section. A short essay, Grade Point Average, financial considerations, hobbies, employment and volunteerism all are ranked by the Scholarship Committee to determine the award winners.
Applications for consideration of the scholarship are accepted by Middle Atlantic Section IMSA between September 1st of the previous year to April 1st of the year of enrollment. Decisions are made by the Scholarship Committee by April 15th, and notifications are made May 1st, with any awards being conferred prior to commencement of the Fall Semester of the Educational Institution.
